AKS-74 Kobra

I found one of these in a Deer Stand, but then found an AKM at Stary 10 minutes later.

This weapon has great sights and AK ammo is plentiful in military loot spots, but the AKM was just too irresistible with its higher firepower and zeroable sights.

And forgive me if I'm misinterpreting you tonez but that wouldn't make sense - AK 74s use 5.45x39mm ammo while the AKM uses larger 7.62x39mm ammo.

This is easily my favorite gun because if it audible range as well as the effective range. Me and my clan where about to team whith someone whith a Huey (not gonna kill him). And a guy who keyword "was" in our clan rammed the chopper w/ his humve (that he stole from us) not only blowing up the Huey (and hum-v) but, running over my squad mates in the making so I had to kill count it 5 people because they all thought we were trying to kill them including my ex-squad mate. Best sight in the mod, green dot makes it very easy to shoot in twilight/dark time. The counterpart (?) CCO just cannot be compared IMHO. Wish we could have SD version of the kobra AK/AKS

2 shots to kill? I once put 6 rounds into a guy and he turned around and shot me...

In namilisk, on some servers there is a silenced version of this, as well as a version with a larger scope

Love this gun. Took a little time learning to use the sight, but now that i have it works great. Easily kills zombies from 100-200 meters with patient aiming, and now that i have NVG's, its even better. The sight actually works really well with night vision IMO. found all my mags in deer stands and balota (13 in all) and the mags actually spawn occasionally in industrial sites, so a great gun altogether. Havent found an M4 with optics yet so i cant compare them.

Pretty much my favourite gun. It might not be the best assault rifle, but it looks way too awesome for me to turn away from using it. Plus it's also insanely easy to find (Found more Kobras then normal AK-74s) and ammo is plenty. Definitely a fun gun to use for CQC as it's not too loud either.

For ranges from 25m to 100m the dot is slightly above where you'll be hitting. After that it'll slowly move down until it finally hits the top of the chevron at 200m. I hope this helps.

I find the Kobra much more inaccurate than the AK74's iron sight. The green chevron is simply too big and blurry and obscures too much of the target past 100m. The CCO's and M14's red dot is much smaller, and thus easier to aim. That said, the best AK74-type weapon is probably the AKSU-74: Despite the much shorter barrel, it unrealistically has just the same range as the AK74 in the game.

The Kobra sight seems to be zeroed wrongly, firing at the tip of the chevron at <100m instead of the dot. I am not familiar with the authentic kobra sight however.

This weapon has gotten my squad through a lot. Me and one of my squad members ambushed a UH1H, and SUV with ours. Works great at medium/close range and is also quite effective at long range depending on how many rounds you pack out. Ammo is everywhere, and the poison dart (5.45) really hits hard. Easily one of my favorite guns in the game, almost preferable over STANAG weapons.

I found one of these on day 2 and i have kept it with me the entire time. Currently i am on day 31 with one of my friends. This weapon has proven to be very good when it comes to PvP because you dont have to worry much about zombies when shooting, and it is great for CQB.
